Today we’ll be reading from Chapter 15 to the end of Chapter 21, let’s jump in!
Please be warned, the following section will include spoilers for Threads That Bind by Kika Hatzopoulou, from chapters 21 to 29. Please only read on if you’ve finished this section!

The Nine are a bit… discomforting… aren’t they? Not sure I’d like to be in a room with them…
Io can ask three questions. No pressure! In her answers though, she learns some unexpected things. The Nine make it sound like the Gods are still alive, they also insinuate the world is going to burn, and Io will be at the root of it?
Edei doesn’t believe it and tries to tell Io they’re just bullies. He asks Io if she really thinks the Nine would let her leave that place if Io’s prophecy was truth. Kinda puts his foot in it when he says the only way to deal with those people, aka people like Io, is with a knife to the throat… Oh Edei. Why!
There’s nothing I hate more than a bully. Thais is gone, but I feel like the remnants of the way she treated Io are still very much sticking around.
It’s not long before Edei realises they’re being followed. Not by just anyone either, but a phobos. He can instill fear and panic in them. He has Io in his grip but it’s not working so much on Edei. What would Io have done in this situation without Edei to help her? I dread to think!
Clever Io though, she’s grabbed ahold of this thread! Wherever this phobos-born goes they can follow.
Honestly, I LOVE Edei, Chimdi and Nico’s relationship, and I love that despite their bickering Io can see how strong their thread is. I also love Edei reminding them that they feel fear on a daily basis and keep going anyway. As someone with anxiety I think that’s a good thing to remember!
They follow the phobos thread to the Teatro Blanco and manage to get in. Saint-Yves is doing a speech, prattling on about ‘the initiative’ and ‘the new order’ and honestly it doesn’t sound like anything good. It all sounds sketchy. Are they in the Hills? Do we think Thais is here?
I don’t know, this speech feels off. It sounds like Saint-Yves is just reducing the other-born to criminals and nothing more… and would there be any other-born that would be willing to catch their own?
*Insert Janice Hosenstein voice* OH MY GOD! The person Thais is engaged to IS Saint-Yves. She’s helping him. She’s HERE!!! Oh I don’t like this.
Thais is still talking about making the world better, so she’s not changed a whole lot? But something about this still feels so off.
The phobos-born, Aris Lefteriou, head of Saint-Yves’s security. Why was he snooping on Io and Edei?
Ayyyyy, we’re following him. Grab ya threads, ya weapons and a coffee and let’s goooo.
They bump into Samiya on the way out… why’s she here? Do I sense a relationship on the rocks??
0/10 would not like to be in a neomonsoon. At least this one isn’t acid rain though!
They bump into Rosa and find out the thread Io cut was her grandmothers. That’s rough. She seems to be helping Io and Edei… but she’s part of Aris’s team. Do you think we can trust her?
Rosa hides them and Edei and Io end up stuck in a very small pod. Aris’s team recognised Edei which feels dangerous. They seem pretty convinced now that Saint-Yves is behind the wraiths. Do we think Thais is playing a part in it?
Okkkkk, Rosa is an oneiroi-born and honestly her power is very cool. Her and Io chat and we learn that Rosa is the undercover journalist Xeno mentioned earlier in the book! She speaks highly of Xeno, and assures Io that he’s changed since they were younger but I still don’t like the fact he used to deadname Rosa. Rosa gives Io some intel… the wraiths were once part of Saint-Yves’s initiative. Is he doing it for his own personal vendetta?
All this business surrounding Thais’s departure still seems very vague. Io definitely seems to have some emotional trauma after it though. What do we think happened?
Edei and Io head back to Fortuna HQ but when they update Bianca, she fires Io? She seems scared of all of this. It’s a very bold move on Edei’s part to step between his boss and his… Io. ? Io though is really starting to get a backbone.
Welp. This is something I didn’t see coming. Ava is sleeping with Bianca. Oh dear. Her morals are still in tact though and she leaves with her sister. I love her!
Edei promises he will come and help her and we leave with Io thinking of herself as a soldier called to duty – someone’s gotta do it!

I feel like tomorrow’s section will bring a LOT of drama – can’t wait!

I love Rosa and totally trust her now 😁 I did not anticipate she was the undercover journalist but it makes complete sense.
Thais is sooooo upto something, she seems too involved.

1) I trust Rosa! If she was going to turn Io in, she would have already. She’s a loyal friend and I adore her. I had no idea SHE would be the undercover journalist. What a twist! She has even more reason to support Io now though. Without a detective, this mystery can never be solved and she’ll never get her inside scoop.
2) I’m not sure what happened between Io and Thais, but I assume it was a big fight between the two of them that Ava wasn’t a part of. Maybe Thais did something really awful and hurtful and Io is keeping it a secret to avoid hurting Ava. Thais is kind of…awful? And I hate her? So it wouldn’t be surprising to me that she would do something heartlessly cruel and Io would cover for her.
3) I have no idea what will happen next! That’s why I love this book so much. The plot twists just keep on giving. 🤌 I’m looking forward to reading more!

I didn’t actually think Rosa was a traitor or had betrayed Io in a sense. From how Io had talked about her throughout her flashbacks, Rosa seemed trustworthy already, and their friend bond was strong. Rosa turning out to be the undercover reporter was a bit of a surprise, since I actually hadn’t put together that she was a journalist to begin with (though looking back, this was mentioned once or twice).
With the furious way Thais left, I want to say Io cut a particular thread off her sister, and Thais hasn’t forgiven Io for doing so. Maybe it was the thread for Thomas or something else that Thais held dear. It would explain the change that Io saw in her sister.
I’m actually hoping to see more of Thais’ mystery unravel, but also the Furies theory I had is a bit stronger now. Perhaps there are surviving descendants of the Furies and they’re being manipulated or experimented on to turn non-gifted into something corrupt. Will have to see!

Ughhhh that section was so good. I love that Rosa isn’t actually a cop and has made amends with Io – she seems lovely, and their dynamic is too cute.
Speaking of cute, Edei making puns slayed me. That boy is too adorable. And Ava is sleeping with Bianca? Holy SMOKES
How is everyone pronouncing Edei BTW? I cant figure it out.

I think Saint-Yves isn’t pulling the strings like they all think, but Thias herself is! I cant guess why now but I suspect it ties in to what happened between her and Io – I’m desperate to find out what that is!
I have how fast the pacing of the story is becoming!
I was NOT anticipating Rosa being an undercover journalist but I still weirdly trust her? I feel good vibes from her still. Can’t explain why.
I definitely think there is something fishy going on with Thais and wonder if she’s more dangerous than is being let on…there sure has to be a good reason that Io did what she did when she left.
I have no idea where this story is leading but I sense a cliffhanger coming…

I’m really enjoying this book. I just <3 Edei. He's so tender, but a bad @ss at the same time? His girlfriend going to the rally is convenient; she potentially might be on the "wrong" side and have to break up with Edei.

Ahhh I’m loving this so far!! I definitely think the Wraiths are connected to the uprising that took place, didn’t all the descendants who provided justice become extinct?
Thais and Luc are 100% not innocent either!

I didn’t not trust Rosa but I’m glad she had a valid reason for why she’s working with the police type people (can’t remember they’re name 🤦♀️) and she and Io are back being friends

I think Rosa had something to with it with her dream skills or Io cut a thread maybe? I also think Thais is still a good guy and had her own reasons for being part of the situation perhaps protecting Io?
What do you think will happen next?
I might be jumping a bit here but the book mentioned Atlantians and with the town partially underwater I’m thinking maybe an Atlantis vibe. Maybe the world burning prophecy is a metaphor for Io bringing change and “burning” the old ways down.

So we started day three with a visit at the nines. Those womans are something! I don’t want to meet them myself.
Thais made her introduction in the book. I am still not trusting her. What is her part in it? And my biggest question is: What did Rosa and Io do to her?
I really really don’t like Biance and i was SHOCKED to read that she is sleeping with Ava. HOW? And why didn’t i see that coming.
I am very excited to read further.
1) Yes is do trust Rosa. I just want to trust her. I like her powers and her character. So please let her be good.
2) I really don’t know what happend with Thais.

I have no idea! Whatever Io did, it must have been bad. (OR Thais has another reason for leaving and it just had to coincide with whatever Io did).
3) What do you think will happen next?
I hope they go and talk to Thais! Although, I don’t know if Thais can be trusted. She could be the mastermind behind it all (I still suspect it’s the Furies returning though).

No idea what she did when she left BUT I wonder if she can create frayed threads? And she’s the one animating the wraiths? From what Io has said about her she seems kind and wouldn’t go round murdering people, but perhaps she’s been corrupted? Even as I was reading Luc’s speech I found that I agreed with what he was saying and his ideas so she could have been easily swayed if she thought it was for the greater good!
What do you think will happen next?
Well, Io’s probably going to bombard Ava with tons of questions about her relationship with Bianca. Edei is going to help Io collect the evidence she needs about Luc, but I think perhaps he will end up uncovering some not so nice things about his girlfriend as she’s supporting a cause he doesn’t agree with. I wonder if Rosa will help them in her undercover position? I want the three sisters to be reunited but if that happens I think it will be more towards the end! And I need to know exactly what happened between Thais and Io when she left two years ago!!

This book keeps getting more interesting! I love that this is a fantasy but at the same time solving a crime, very cool.
I actually trusted Rosa from the beginning. I didn’t anticipate that she was the undercover journalist but there were hints that Io and Rosa’s friendship was very strong (especially Rosa being Io’s only friend) so I thought that even though they have drifted a bit apart they are still loyal to each other. I really love her character!
I also need to know why Thais left and what happened there, especially now with the extra info that Rosa and Io did something… what was it? I have no theories whatsoever…
I have never been very good at guessing what happens next in a book (or in a tv show for that matter) but Edei and Io will continue with investigating, trying to gather evidence. I truly hope that Thais will end up as an ally against Saint-Yves… wishful thinking?

First let me get this out of the way, I entered the giveaway, my handle is @bemysidekick !
Secondly, I was suspicious of Rosa, but mainly because in a mystery I’m suspicious of EVERYONE. And then when one of the many side characters is outed as having a secret I feel an undeserving sense of accomplishment lol despite finding out about her I still like her character a lot. So excited to see where this all leads!
These characters are all such a hot mess ahaha.
1) Actually I do trust Rosa…I did not expect that.
2) I can’t remember if it was Rosa or Ava (I think Rosa) that said something about what she and Io did to Thais when she left…that makes me think there was more going on that we still don’t know. I like the theory that maybe Io cut one of Thais’ threads. I would really like to know more about the three different types of sisters…Thais’ powers sound fascinating.
3) I HAVE NO IDEA THIS STORY IS SO WILD

I had no idea Rosa would be the informant, I love that she wants to be a journalist writing big meaningful pieces. It seems like we can truly trust her. It also sounds like she and Io had a hand in doing something to Thais to make her leave. I am guessing Io cut one of her threads. Ava made it seem like Thais is still upset with Io, it couldn’t just be with her saying no to a job could it but something big like cutting a thread?
I am excited to see where the story is going next! I really want to know how Thais and Luc became involved.

I really like Rosa and hope my trust isn’t misplaced.
I hate that Io had to suffer that abuse by her sister. There isn’t a excuse for that. They might make up but I don’t think their relationship is repearable. Thais might be up to something. Like Ava and Io I can’t see her being okay with all that. Maybe she made a thread for Luc and she is working on stopping them.
Edei seems to have trouble in the relationship. That was awkward.

I don’t know exactly what happened between Thais and Io, but I am wondering about the state of their thread and whether Io may have cut something she should not have. “Three bodies, one soul. When your sisters need you, you go.” Even if their bond was deeply hurt, hopefully Thais would still be there for family.
Samiya is acting sus, so there may be a natural breakdown of that relationship, creating a fair chance for Edei and Io 😍

Is Luc Saint-Yves trying to recreate the Furies by creating the wraith women?
Is Thais undercover? Or is she a villain? We’ve been told she is a bully but not really shown it. Maybe because we are still in the dark about why she left. Now we know that Rosa has some knowledge of what happened between Thais and Io. Did Io cut a thread from Thais?
Bianca seemed to turn on Io the moment the riots were mentioned. She is definitely hiding something about what happened 12 years ago.
I’m till not convince that Edei is actually in a romantic relationship. He very clearly likes Io and he’s never said what’s her name is his girlfriend and they didn’t touch or show any sign of an actual relationship the two times they have been in the same place on page. I’m imaging they are actually platonic friends or secret siblings or maybe just exes who stayed friends.
No big predictions for the rest of the book other than expecting to find out what happened between Io and Thais & expecting a cliffhanger ending.

I always thought that Rosa could have a hidden reason for why she was doing what she was doing, and I was happy to be proven right! It feels like Rosa has been the only person in Io’s corner since day one, so I’m happy to see the girls together again, and I totally trust Rosa now! I must say though that I didn’t anticipate Rosa being the undercover journalist! I was totally surprised! But I love her sassy and carefree attitude and I cant’ wait to read more about her!
About Thais I’m guessing that Rosa and Io did something wrong to her, but that the girl perceived as necessary. Maybe Io cut one of Thais’s treads? I really don’t know!
I still don’t know what it will happen in the next chapters, I think that maybe Nico could be suss, but I really hope I’m mistaken because I really love his character!

I am just finished this section. Can Thais weave her own threads? Because if she can then she wouldn’t be angry at Io for cutting one as she could just bring it back? But perhaps she can’t weave for herself only for others?
I did trust Rosa all along. I like that Io has a friend to giggle with.

I really don’t know, but it has to be much more complicated than the job Io didn’t want to do. The way Io remembered her, I think we will all be surprised about the reason and why she’s there now and with the enemies.

I have theories, but I think I would be wrong. I like that the book keeps me a the edge of my chair with all the turns. I am just sure I would definitely love what’s coming.

I think I do trust Rosa, I think that she is just trying to do something similar to Io, but in a different way because he abilities are different and limited at the same time.

I did not anticipate she was the journalist, but that fits the brand I had of her in my mind.

I have a sinking feeling that Thais left because she was either embarrassed because she realized that Io was right about what she wanted her to do, or because she was upset that Io was starting to be less afraid of her and wasn’t immediately bowing to her will.
What do you think will happen next?
I think that Io will confront Thais and they will get in a massive fight, and that will cause a rift, which could affect their threads.
