Sale Tips: How to Be Prepared & Have a Smoother Experience

Jenni

FairyLoot sales can be busy and exciting! To help make your experience as smooth as possible, we’ve put together some key tips and information to keep in mind before and during the sale. 💜

1. Double-Check Sale Times (and Convert to Your Local Time)

Please make sure you’ve checked the sale time carefully and converted it into your local timezone ahead of time.

Sale times can vary between titles, so we recommend double-checking the details before the sale goes live to ensure you’re fully prepared.

2. Accessing the Early Access Sale

Our Early Access sales can be accessed in two ways:

  • Via the Memberships section of your online account, or
  • Via a password, which you’ll receive by email at your designated access time

For first books in a series or sets, active subscribers can access Early Access sales directly through the Memberships section of their account.

If your email hasn’t arrived yet, checking there can save you time and help you join the sale sooner.

For sequel sales and password-protected titles, please make sure you’re using the password provided in your sale email, rather than your account login password. These are different, and using your account password won’t grant access to the sale page.

Good to Know:
During Early Access, sale items won’t be visible in the main online shop. To access the item during Early Access, please use:

  • The link in your sale email, or
  • The link in your Memberships area (if you have multiple Memberships, you can click on any subscription listed to find the sale)

Once Early Access ends, any remaining stock will move to the main shop (fairyloot.com/fairy-trove).

3. What to Know About Stock

Signed stock is produced in limited quantities. If signed stock sells out:

  • We may occasionally be able to secure unsigned stock
  • If this happens, we’ll inform customers as soon as possible

During Early Access sales, once signed stock has sold out, a link to the unsigned edition will appear directly in the signed product’s description (if available).

4. Expect a Queue During Busier Sales

For high-traffic sales, a queue system will activate to help manage website traffic.

A few helpful things to know:

  • The queue is automatically triggered once a certain number of people are on the site
  • The time the queue starts is not manually set by our team
  • Everyone gains access to the site in the order they joined the queue

If you’re in the queue:

  • Please do not refresh the page
  • Keep the page open and active to hold your place
5. Don’t Worry If the Wait Time Looks Very Long

Sometimes the estimated wait time may say something like “More than a day.” Please don’t worry, it’s extremely unlikely you will be waiting this long.

This happens because:

  • The queue estimate adjusts based on how long customers are currently spending on the site
  • If the sale hasn’t started yet, or has only just begun, wait times can initially appear much longer than they really are

Your actual wait time will almost always be much shorter than the first estimate shown.

6. Keep the Queue Page Active While You Wait

The queue operates with a 10-minute inactivity limit. If the page is inactive for too long, you may be removed from the queue and need to rejoin.

To avoid this:

  • Keep the page open and active
  • Try not to leave the page or let it sit inactive for long periods

This is the most common reason customers are asked to rejoin the queue.

7. Once You’ve Checked Out, Please Exit the Site

After you’ve successfully completed your purchase, we kindly ask that you leave the website. This helps reduce wait times for other customers still in the queue and allows the sale to run more smoothly for everyone.

8. Basket & Checkout Tips

To help avoid any issues during checkout, please keep the following in mind:

Stock is held in your basket for up to 10 minutes

  • Please do not refresh while your payment is processing

If your order is processed more than once by accident:

  • During Early Access sales, there’s no need to get in touch, duplicate orders are automatically cancelled and you should receive confirmation of your refund by the end of the day
  • Otherwise, please contact us via help.fairyloot.com
9. Confirmation Emails Can Take a Little Time

Confirmation emails may sometimes take a little longer to arrive during busy sales.

If:

  • You’re taken to our “Thank You” page, or
  • Your order shows as accepted or pre-ordered in your account

Then your order has been successfully processed, even if the email hasn’t arrived yet.

10. Common Error Messages

“Product Cannot Be Purchased”

This usually means you’re not logged in to an account with an active subscription.

Before contacting us, we recommend:

  • Checking that you’re logged in
  • Making sure you’re using the correct account

If you are logged in and still seeing this message, our Customer Support team can look into your subscription for you.

“There Is Not Enough Stock to Add to Your Cart”

This message can be confusing, especially if the product page still appears to show stock available.

What’s happening here is that:

  • The stock shown may currently be reserved in other customers’ baskets
  • Reserved stock can become available again if someone doesn’t check out or if duplicate orders are removed

Stock levels can change quickly, and while availability may briefly reappear, it will likely move to out of stock shortly after.

11. Sale Updates

We know that being looped in on what’s happening during the sale is extremely important.

During every sale, we share updates* via our Social Media channels. This includes information from Early Access emails, to stock updates, queue information and more. You can find updates on the following platforms:

*Please note: Our team works 9-5 UK time, and updates may be limited outside of these hours.

12. Customer Support During Sales

Our Customer Support team does their best to prioritise time-sensitive sale queries, but response times may be slightly longer during very busy periods. We have a dedicated sale team on hand during UK working hours.

Before reaching out, we recommend checking our FAQ, as many common sale questions are answered there.

If you do need to get in touch, you can contact our friendly fairies here.

Thank you for being part of the FairyLoot community!

And for helping us make our sales as smooth and fair as possible for everyone. We hope these tips help you feel more prepared for sale day, and we can’t wait to share more editions with you. 💜
