Hey fairy friends!
Welcome to our fifth and final day of the A Curse of Blood and Wolves readalong! Grab a snack (or a few!) and let’s dive in and see what happens. We’re expecting some more wolf drama, some seers maybe and a lot of tension!
Today we’re reading from Chapter 37 to the end of the book.
Please be warned, the following section will include spoilers for A Curse of Blood and Wolves by Melissa McTernan, from chapter 37 to the end of the book. Please only read on if you’ve finished A Curse of Blood and Wolves!

Lena has a good go at talking sense into Ruby and it does kind of work? We know by now that Ruby is VERY stubborn though, so she’s gonna let him stew for a bit before going to see him!
In the meantime, Rafe gets a visit he’s not totally expecting. It’s Ma. I like that she’s come. I think he needed it! She talks to him about his worries and sensitivity and Rafe’s true feelings come out a little bit when Scarlet comes up and he say’s he “can’t let things end the same way this time”. The chat with Ma doesn’t do a whole lot in terms of convincing him otherwise, he’s so hellbent on believing he’s a terrible person! Or wolf? Wolf-person?
Ruby’s done letting Rafe stew, so finds him and visits him. She doesn’t actually know where he lives but seems magically drawn to him? He misunderstood her, she was never scared of him, she was scared that he was hurt. Nonetheless, Rafe continues pushing her away. Rafe, I KNOW you have some worries that you’re a terrible person but LISTEN TO HER!!! PLEASE!!!
Rafe pays Knox another visit. I don’t know why cause it didn’t exactly do a lot of good for him last time! Knox is only interested in protecting his pack, but promises again he’s going to send out patrols. He said that before though and it never happened soooo… I don’t think I believe it!
Knox offers him a place in the pack. He doesn’t believe Lena’s a seer, but says if he does rejoin, he’ll offer Ruby and Lena protection. That’s a bit… icky.
I don’t think Knox will get a visit from Rafe again any time soon, but plot twist, when Ruby goes to work she finds out Knox has been trying to visit HER. Wonder why? The visits don’t stop there either, Callie also wants to talk, she tells Ruby what we’d already sort of worked out, clairvoyance runs in families.
As she’s walking home, she can feel Rafe’s presence. What a full circle moment! Stalker Rafe is back. Did we miss him? 👀
She talks to him in the darkness, but he doesn’t show himself or talk back. It seems enough for both of them right now just to be close to each other, Ruby will take what she can get.
Until… she cracks one night and asks him why he’s doing this. Presumably why he’s told her they’re done but continues to protect her, it must be quite tormenting. It breaks his resolve and he finally shows himself.
Ruby wants to know why he keeps trying to leave and it’s the same spiel about his evil monsterness. She tells him she loves him and he asks her to tell him again and says this time, he’ll try to hear it. Rafe she’s basically been showing that this WHOLE TIME!
They go to his cabin, and he claims her. Does that mean the mate bond is officially accepted now then? She stays with him, explaining Lena kicked her out and seems done with babysitting so she might as well. I don’t know though, even though it’s only Ruby they’ve shown interest in so far… I’m not so sure it’s a good idea to leave Lena alone?
Ruby opens up that she thinks her aunt may have been a seer, and about her potential vision too. I’m so glad these two finally seem to have stopped running from each other! They stay in their happy bubble, with a little routine of sorts for about a month…
Until… Ruby wakes up, from a dream or a vision, and says Lena is gone.
We jump right into an epilogue with Theo and Phoebe. We know from Rafe that nothing has happened between these two but he’s pretty convinced Theo’s in love with her and it kinda makes sense now? It seems like Fee is the one calling the shots and putting a stop to it, ensuring nothing happens between them. Doesn’t stop Theo suggesting it again though!
They’re interrupted by a text… it’s Rafe. He needs his help and he’s telling him Lena’s gone.
Fee offers to come with him, but he tells her no… things between them are already complicated enough!
What an ending!!! I have SO many questions…

Who do you think the next book will be about? I initially thought Theo and Fee but now we know Fee is the one saying no to things between them, I’m thinking maybe he’ll move on with a certain available seer? 👀
I still think Theo and Fee will get together in the end it seems like maybe she is his mate. I think the next book might be Knox and Lena.
Speaking of Lena, what do you think has happened to her?
Hopefully she is okay, I think this other wolf pack took her but hopefully won’t hurt her because they need her. Maybe Knox will come to his senses and help save her and maybe they will end up together.
Finally, did you enjoy A Curse of Blood and Wolves? I’d love to know your thoughts!
I enjoyed the story and I will definitely be picking up book 2 to find out what happens next.

I love Theo and Fee together honestly, i thinks he might be his mate, but I guess we will have to read and find out.

Finally, did you enjoy A Curse of Blood and Wolves? I’d love to know your thoughts! i did enjoy it ! I want to pick up the second book and find pit what happens next.
1) I think Theo and Fee. We saw SO MUCH how resisting does not work hahaha.
2) I think the oft-mentioned Canadian wolves who are “on the move” have her.
3) I was disappointed the last section of the book was focused so much on Ruby and Rafe having endless sex and living in a little bubble where they pretend everything is fine. There’s a time jump of a MONTH and no one cares that Lena still doesn’t know anything about being a seer or that Ruby might be one too or that strange wolves came into another pack’s territory and tried to do murder? Mmkay. I guess these are more romance novels in a supernatural setting so the other plot points either fall to the side or only exist to support the main romance plot. I still enjoyed it, it just wasn’t what I thought it was.

From the mate reaction, I think Theo and Fee are mates, so them looking for Lena will probably be the next book!

I liked it! I think it was a lighter read in terms of fantasy, so it felt like a good break from intense world building. I would definitely read book 2
I think Lena and Knox will have a story, while Fee and Theo need to have their moment.
I liked the book and the characters but I think it was lacking in overall story line. I I wish more happened, I feel like we didn’t progress much from the beginning. I am eager for the next book though.
