I hope you are all ready for the last day of the December Adult Book readalong of Faebound by Saara El-Arifi. I am super excited to see where the story goes!
Today we are reading from chapter 32 to the end of the book!
Please be warned, the following section will include spoilers for Faebound by Saara El-Arifi from Chapter 32 to the end. Please only read on if you have finished this section!

Lettle going to see Sahar while Rayan is sleeping is smart, she can find out why he defended her.
I feel like knowing the future must be so hard especially when people like the Queen could not accept the truth.
Sahar is seeming quite nice and wants to help Lettle.
The way the elves killed the obeah for magic and divination whereas the fae are just using the tree of souls to read the fates.
Hmm I am a little unsure of Sahar as I wonder why his face dropped its kindness, does he want to use her or has he something in her future he doesn’t like.
Lettle is to become the new seer of the fae, I can imagine it.
Rayan never slept with Berro which is good! Yay they kissed ohh a little spicy scene!
They are a couple finally!
Not Yeeran and Furi kind of fixing the issue? At least Furi stroked Pila.
I know Yeeran will find the murderer.
Komi is acting odd maybe he is the one who poisoned them.
Why aren’t the others suspicious of Komi like he is not the good guy and is always acting off.
Lettle making her figurines is so sweet especially with Rayan watching her with pure love.
She is giving another prophecy about Komi but it is about a prophecy being fulfilled hmm.
Wait are Nerad and Komi working together? As they are using the squid ink Golan uses on his clients
Yeeran and Furi are like starcrossed lovers and it’s painful to read but at least she has practiced using the drum to focus her magic.
Golan is crying I wonder what Nerad has done to him
I like that they are going to the coronation together! I feel like something will happen at it.
Not Pila telling Yeeran to lick Lettle ears as a compliment to her, that is so funny.
Yeeran don’t be jealous now of Jay.
Nerad is not getting the magic from the tree but Rayan is???
Nerad must be bad vibes to not get chosen by the tree.
Rayan is half fae ??? Omg he’s like Furi’s nephew, I can’t believe his fathers name meant storms mist!
He has an obeah aswell!?? I love that Lettle knew who his obeah is.
Nerad is not happy at all, I feel like he might want to kill Rayan.
Not Yeeran feeling bad about killing Rayan’s father!
Wait Rayan is the cause of the blight I kind of thought the elves helped by coming to Mosima but it was just him coming home.
I want to know what happened to Lettle and Yeeran’s father. Did Lettle actually kill him?
Rayan can never leave Mosima now. Plus I don’t think Lettle will leave him.
Why is Lettle annoyed at Rayan, I understand it is a big deal but they weren’t talking for ages
Why can’t she tell him the truth of the prophecy, communication is key for a good relationship.
Lettle will be the new Seer!
It is so interesting as normally the main character would be Rayan as he is the chosen one but it is in fact Lettle and Yeeran who are the main characters!
Not Yeeran going to try to force Furi to tell them the human word so they can be let out of Mosima but I know Lettle will stay and so does Yeeran.
I want Yeeran to accept the fate that she can stay and be with Furi once they tell the elves about the fae!
In a way Yeeran and Furi have made up even if it was with sex, I can’t believe Furi asked Yeeran so nicely to stay.
Rayan gets to meet his Grandad that is very sweet.
Wait Golan is being nice to Lettle does that mean they are friends again?
I knew that Komi will be where Rayan fufills his prophecy as Komi is for sure the missing chieftan. Komi was telling the elves of the war and how they were the old fae capital.
Golan and Nerad killed the Queens together, why would they do this.
Not Lettle being found by Nerad and Golan. Please I don’t want her to die.
Yeeran is coming to the rescue! Yes save your sister! This is all very stressful
Rayan and Furi are there now to help save Lettle and capture Nerad.
I can’t believe Furi killed Nerad and she wants to say he jumped.
Wait the Crescent tribe is linked with the fae, they sent fae to fight on behalf of the Crescent elves. The only reason the Crescent elves seemed so good at fighting is because of the fae and their magic.
The fae have always lived underground so they aren’t mines but instead ruins, all of this is so heartbreaking.
My heart can’t, Yeeran really can’t trust anyone who is in power as they always hurt her.
Lettle is safe and trying to tell Rayan, Komi has been feeding information to the fae and is General Akomido.
Not Furi trying to stop Rayan from killing Komi, even though the Crescent Tribe will come to to attack the fae now. I am glad he got his revenge.
Golan is sweet but I feel so bad for him for getting tangled up in the mess at least Lettle will not tell on him.
Not Yeeran mainly only caring about trying to save her tribe.
Lettle slowly killed their father which is mean but also a mercy. She was just trying to save herself! Now she has bad abandonment issues with Yeeran and everyone.
I am glad Furi is letting Yeeran go but I just want both Yeeran and Furi to be happy together and I don’t want Salawa to come back into the picture.
Wait does that mean Rayan will have a POV in the next book as he has just had one?
He will break the curse I hope.
Wow, this was such fun to read and went in a different direction than I thought.

This definitely went in a different direction than I expected!
I’m curious to know how Yeeran’s return to her tribe will go. I have a feeling it’s not going to go well.
Overall I had a good time! Which is all I ask for in a book, I just want to be entertained. And I was! It even managed to surprise me a few times!
I will be keeping my eye out for book 2 for sure!

I genuinely believed that Komi was the one who assassinated the queens. When I learned about Golan and Nerad, I was astounded! Nerad, who has always been incredibly kind. I really fell for it.
The obeah was Rayan !!!
I really like these last chapters.
Well the death of komi was spectacular 😂
Regarding the upcoming book, I believe Salawa will take full advantage of Yeeran and that there will be bloody fighting. I’m hoping Rayan can locate the book his dad left him and be the one to open the Fae’s barrier.

I really enjoyed this book! I loved the world building so much. I think that a new war will start in the second book. Yeeran will tell the elves about the fae, which will start bringing the war to the fae because their hunger for the fraedia.
I biggest question I still have is what are the fae training for? I feel like they know something that the elves don’t!

Did you have a favourite moment from the book?
I think this book did a good enemies to lovers romance. It didn’t feel too instant of a switch from enemies to lovers. I like the scenes while Yeeran was helping with the harvest the best.
Any theories for book two?
I have a feeling Yeeran’s return to her home clan will not go as planned. I’m hoping they don’t hurt Pila.
I really hope Pila stays safe!
AHHHHHH!!!!! That went in a completely different direction than I thought it would, but I loved it!
I don’t think Yeeran is going to get the welcome that she tho is she will, so I’m definitely concerned about that.
Lettle and Golan coming together at the end was everything. I love their friendship.
I’m so looking forward to Rayan and Furi working together to dispel some of their prejudices.
I need book 2 now!!!

So glad my boy Rayan got his crown. Him being half-fae is certainly going to throw a loop for a lot of the people of Mosima. I truly hope he doesn’t become corrupt because I can’t lose a favorite character so soon.
Yeeran’s return to the tribe will be interesting for sure. I want her to see the corrupt side of Salawa and not turn on Furi, but I have a feeling Yeeran may be manipulated once again by Salawa. The war I am hoping will be a major plot point of Book 2 and I have a feeling humans will pop up in B2 or B3.
I did enjoy the annotated journal at the end of the book, seeing all the penned in notes was a nice touch.
I don’t want Yeeran to be manipulated by Salawa.
Honestly I totally predicted that this was going to happen especially once I connected the dots in our last day of reading with Rayan’s potential obeah.
I really enjoyed this book, the story was quite fast paced with a lot going on but I also felt that it was very predictable (maybe that’s just me though).
I can’t wait to see what happens in book two, I think Yeeran might have to face Salawa’s true intentions though! ❤️

Just every moment between Yeeran and Pila!
3. Any theories for book two?
I’m thinking Yeeran’s homecoming won’t be as good as she thinks. I still don’t trust Salawa and she will she Yeeran as a threat, I believe. She won’t easily accept Yeeran’s return as she was exciled, so it must have some political consequence with Yeeran returning. I think some uprising will ensue, with Yeeran in the lead and the army behind her.

I loved this book! The last chapters, what?! Nerad? Komi was expected but working with the fae? It all makes sense but wow! Rayan king and Lettle seer…
I have no idea how Yeeran is going to convince waning of everything she learned. Her comeback will be bitter, I don’t know if they will believe her, and to be travelling with Pila, she will have to protect her from hunters… I honestly think Salawa will disappoint her, make her betray the ones she left behind.
My only wish is for the prophecy of Rayan’s death to not happen. No idea how though.
Please @fairyloot make a gorgeous full of customisations of the next books, I honestly can’t wait to read them, they will probably be the most anticipated books for me.

Me too. I think she knows more than she led Yeeran know and seems very calculating.
Yay! Rayan and Lettle are finally together! I was very suspicious of Komi, but I was immediately suspicious of Golan after it said the queens had been poisoned with the squid ink. I would have died if Nerad had killed Lettle. I didn’t like the idea of Yeeran and Furi being a thing at first, but seeing Furi’s sweeter side warmed me up to her. I’m interested to see what will happen with the Crescents now that Rayan killed Komi.

Yes! The squid ink made me question him as well. But I kinda expected him to not be the mastermind. Still I was so surprised be Nerad even though I had the feeling he was planning something I did not expect him to kill his mother!
I loved this book. Once I got a couple chapters in, I couldn’t put it down! Those last couple of chapters had me on the edge of my seat! I couldn’t believe it about Rayan and Komi! I am really interested to see what Yeeran does next, as I don’t think she can trust Salawa. I think her homecoming won’t go as well as she’d like, and I hope nothing happens to her or Pila!
I loved the growth between Yeeran and Furi, and the unique magic system in the book! I never would have considered drum magic. I also really enjoyed Golan’s character! I wish he was treated better by his people.
Yay, I finally finished and loved that I could read all of the other messages even though I am probably too late for many people to still see my post.
I am actually surprised I am saying this but I was surprised by the turn of events and that barely ever happens to me. It just shows how unique the story is. I did not expect Nerad to be the person behind everything.
I am a bit sad that Yeeran chose the war over her sister again and did not even stay long enough to try and work it out with Lettle. Leaving her sister like that… If you love her at least take the time to not part like that. Especially when her death is not very unreasonable due to the raging war.
All in all I loved the book!
And I am sure I will be participating into readalongs more often now. It’s so refreshing to see all the comments even when you are not within the set time frame.
