Some books do more than just tell a story, some linger like a spell you just can’t break. 📖🪄

Whilst there’s a special kind of magic in finding a book you love so dearly that it feels like it was written just for you, it can be a challenge trying to find another that lives up to it. If you’ve ever found yourself chasing the feeling that a book once gave you, then this post is for you!

Here are some recommendations of books we think you should read based on what you’ve already read and loved. 💜

If you liked Rewitched by Lucy Jane Wood, then you may also like Best Hex Ever by Nadia El-Fassi.

Both of these bewitching books follow female protagonists who are trying their hardest to conceal their magical abilities from others at their cosy jobs, whether that’s at a bookshop or a café. Whilst Rewitched features a wonderful slow burn love story, a wholesome found family dynamic, and uplifting messages about self love, Best Hex Ever is still just as sweet but also has a bit of added spice! Whilst vastly different in their plot lines, both of these stories centre on these women learning to embrace their identities, and are perfect for those who adore prominent romance storylines in their cosy fantasy books.

If you liked The Simple Wild by K. A. Tucker, then you may also like It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey.

These two romances are completely and utterly consuming! Both feature men falling in love with city-based heroines who find themselves in unfamiliar, rural places that challenge their identities. At their core, they’re both heartwarming, small town love stories, but they’re also so much more than that. With exploration of family ties, realistic relationship progression, incredible character arcs and journeys of self-discovery, both of these stories will leave their mark on your heart.

If you liked The Unmaking of June Farrow by Adrienne Young, then you may also like The Listeners by Maggie Stiefvater.

This one is for the historical fiction and magical realism lovers! These two stories contain more similarities than just their main characters being called June. Both of these books feature strong female protagonists with emotional and moral conflicts, as well as beautiful, atmospheric writing depicting historical settings with a sprinkle of hidden magic. They are also both steeped with secrets and have intriguing mysteries at their centres. Their plots may vary dramatically, but their vibes? Spot on!

If you liked The Poet Empress by Shen Tao, then you may also like A Song to Drown Rivers by Ann Liang.

Both of these historical fantasies are epic tales filled with Chinese mythology and legend; the prior inspired by the Tang Dynasty of China, and the latter on the legend of Xishi. Dark and brutal in their themes, they have varying plots but both take on ideas of womanhood, war, and sacrifice set against imperial court backdrops. Rich in writing and world-building, these reads are addicting and fast paced.

If you liked The False Prince by Jennifer A. Nielsen, then you may also like The Thief by Megan Whalen Turner.

If you loved the political intrigue and deceptive plots of The False Prince, the epic journey the characters of The Thief embark on will be just up your street. Both stories feature young but clever and resourceful protagonists, who rely on wit and deception to survive dangerous schemes. Whether that be someone impersonating a prince or the king’s scholar tracking down a powerful artefact, royal family dynamics play a part in both of these books.

You can purchase the FairyLoot Exclusive Edition of The Thief and the rest of the series here.
