Happy Thursday, fairies!
I hope you’re all enjoying The Gods Below so far! It has been so fun seeing all of your theories building up, and we’re now fully into the thick of it!
Today we’ll be reading chapters 34 – 46, and I’m eager to see where we end up!
So without further ado, let’s go!
Please be warned, the following section will include spoilers for The Gods Below by Andrea Stewart from chapter 34 to the end of Chapter 46. Please only read on if you have finished reading this section!
β!SPOILERS!β
We leave them for two seconds and again, Hakara and Thassir land themselves in troubleβ¦this time to save a cat. Which, I mean, I respect it!
But the two are suddenly fighting as a unit against Godkillers, seemingly holding their own until Kluehnn himself gets involved. He fuels Hakaraβs rage, and miraculously, they escape the ordeal. Weβre quickly taken to another POV, this time visiting the God Nioanen as they are on the run with their partner and soon-to-be child. They swear to take the world back, so they can stop running and settle with their child…Thassir. THASSIR?!
Hakara finds out she is bonded to a God right as we do, so we sure do feel her shock! What do you even do with that information?
Carry on as usual, is Hakaraβs answer, as she prepares to find the third corestone. But no, Thassir has had enough, and the two argue before breaking their bond and going their separate ways.
Sheuan on the other hand, must be experiencing some intense deja vu, as she begins her journey to Kashan again. After her mother sends her away – seemingly uncaring for the danger her daughter was in – Sheuan treks back to Kashan with one of mullβs filters in hand, ready for attempt 2.0.
Despite parting ways previously, Sheuan finds Rasha once more and tries to convince her to leave. But does it work? Well, no, not exactly. Rasha is adamant on her path as a Godkiller, and leaves her behind with the demand sheβs assigned a different advocate for the remainder of her journey.
Ouch!
We seem to be pausing our read right as everybody argues and parts ways. This canβt be where their journeys end! Do you think anyone will reconcile?
Did you see Thassirβs lineage coming? I wondered why we had those God POVs lingering ominously!
Give us all your thoughts and final theories below, and Iβll chat to you soon!
Love,
Ashleigh

The revelations! I didn’t see Tashir being a son of gods, but it made sense as he had been a long time around and he hadn’t changed in the restorations.
I really want at least one of them to make it up and be friends at least again before the book ends! I wish both couples reunited but maybe it’s too much.
I hope Tashir shows up in a low moment and helps Hakara out even if they are not bonded. Because he feels a dcent kind of guy, just to loom there and help.
As for Sheuan I am not sure she’ll see Rasha again, but if she talks to Hakara at some point and learns her sister’s name, she will be perfect to unite both, they both should be grateful to have found the lost sister and she could make it up to Rasha for leaving her in the first place.
I was so surprised too! What would you even do if you found out the one you’d bonded with was a God?? π
It’s almost painful seeing Hakara and Rasha have just one connection between them!
I knew Thassir was going to be something but didn’t expect that! Now I just need Hakara and Sheuan to TALK already.
Right?? I was so surprised ahaha!
Oh the joys of being a reader and screaming at the page for characters to just TALK ahahaha
Omg? I totally didnβt make the connection with Thassir being Nioanenβs son! In hindsight, that makes so much sense lol.
Also, itβs so frustrating how close Rasha and Hakara are to knowing about each other π Hakara needs to tell Sheuan her sisterβs name now!! Mitoran mentioned the last corestone is in one of Kluehnnβs dens, so that must be Rashaβs den right? I think Hakara will end up going on that mission after learning about her sister from Sheuan. Somethingβs definitely gonna go wrong, but Iβm happy as long as they see each other before the book ends π₯²
And about everyone arguing – I hope they make up with their respective partners soon because this is painful. I have high hopes for a Thassir and Hakara reconciliation. As the other commenter said, heβs too decent not to help her.
Hindsight is a funny thing, I never see these things coming π
It’s so tense knowing how close Hakara and Rasha are circling each other!
Come on Thassir, pull through please π
I had a feeling Thassir was from the gods!! With his mysterious ways and his obsession with cats! I hope he doesn’t die, I feel bad for him to be hunted but still want to help the others. He must have been around many losses, his parents and probably other gods. I really hope he and Hakara will end up together!
I love that Hakara and Sheuan are together now π they are both so strong and cunning, I am positive they will save Rasha.
But I think Rasha will become a godkiller and try to kill Thassir and Hakara tries to stop her and Rasha has to choose π¬
Oh god, Rasha having to choose between her goal and her family would be so intense! I can’t even guess what she’d choose…
Wow, okay I did not expect that Tasshir was the son of a god, but I guess it makes a little sence after all. I had a feeling his obsession with cats meant something more! I really believe Tasshir will help Hakara even though they broke the bond. I just need everyone to talk already, this is getting painfully hard for everyone! I saw someone in the comments that believes Rasha will have to choose between Hakara and Thassir if she becomes a godkiller, so I guess I’m mentally preping for that now π
It’s so hard being a reader when you know more than the characters do and just want to yell at them to communicate π
I honestly thought Thassir was going to be Nioanen, under a new name. Now I wonder what happened to his parents. Also awwww cats must remind him of his mother π
Stoppp that’s so sad! π
I think everyone will reconcile at some point.
I was surprised about Thassirs lineage as I really thought he was his father haha.
I think Rasha will eventually find out that sheβs on the bad side, hopefully before her and her sister fight about it.
