Hello Fairy Friends! And, welcome back!

Our August Readalong starts on Monday! We’re reading ‘The Merciful Crow‘ by Margaret Owen, which is our book of the month for August.

‘The Merciful Crow‘ follows Fie, the future chieftain of The Crows, a shunned caste of mercy-killers who are called upon to take away the bodies of the dead and dying. When they are called to collect the royal dead, Fie hopes for the payment of a lifetime but what she gets might not be quite what she was expecting! Facing many trials and tribulations, Fie’s chieftain training is forced into action and she is forced to decide what she will sacrifice to ensure the safety of future Crows!

The Merciful Crow sounds so intriguing and I’m so ready to read it with you all! If you’ve joined a readalong before, you know the drill! If you’re new, you might be wondering how does this Readalong work? It’s quite easy really!

Every day I, your host for this Readalong, will post some discussion points or observations from the section of the book allocated for that day. This Readalong will last over the course of 5 days, from September 9th – 13th.  The below chapters are inclusive! The reading schedule is as follows:

9th September: Chapters 1 – 5

10th September: Chapters 6 – 9

11th September: Chapters 10 – 14

12th September: Chapters 15 – 19

13th September: Chapters 20 – END

Each day we will tackle approximately 70-80 pages. If this is too much or too little for your usual reading speed, please feel free to adjust to your schedule! There’s absolutely no pressure if you want to read at your own pace and do your own thing. The daily posts will be ready and waiting for you to still join in and discuss!

There will be spoilers for that allocated book section so we can freely share our thoughts for what just happened and predictions as to what will follow! I’m very excited to hear your thoughts and opinions!
